Independent Counselling Services
Gender Matters hosts independent counselling services at the Gender Identity Centre in Wolverhampton, all the councillors are registered British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists (BACP) therefore bound by an ethical framework in their therapeutic practice.
Appointments made are between you and the counsellor. Gender Matters provide's a safe room for your to use.

Angie Franklin
Reflection Counselling Practice offers a confidential counselling service and uses a variety of counselling models, primarily Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Systemic, Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, Integrative.
Angie counsels clients for depression, anxiety, anger, stress-related disorders, domestic violence, relationship difficulties, abuse, bereavement, work-related difficulties, low self-esteem, addictions, jealousy, sexual orientation and trans-gender issues. As well as working with clients with trans-gender issues she is able to provide ongoing support and counselling to the families of this client base.
Angie has an extensive experience and qualifications in specialised areas including child/adolescent development, couples counselling, bereavement counselling, addictions – drugs/alcohol, and domestic violence.

Hi, I’m a fully qualified counsellor working with Gender Matters within a confidential professional service, based in Wolverhampton. I have four years counselling experience to Diploma level and I’m a member of BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). I offer counselling to people aged 16 years old upwards. I offer face to face counselling, with a variety of relevant issues facing the LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender and Questing) community. My counselling approach is Integrative, my theoretical stance is primarily Psychodynamic with parts of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) I have particular expertise in the LGBTQ community.
