Synergy–working in partnership with Gender Matters

Our Charity Gender Matters is keen to promote organisations and Services that are “Trans Aware”. We believe that your organisation / service can be of benefit to trans people in the community and that a positive view by Trans people can be of benefit to you and your organisation.

As part of the recent implementation of the “Gender Equality Duty – 2007” it is expected that organisations/services affected will need to consult with Trans organisations and support groups to build their equality policy.

At the Charity we have extensive experience of this diversity strand and our Board is drawn from the Trans community. We have worked in this area since 2003 and became a registered charity in 2005 covering the West Midlands and surrounding areas.

We believe that we can help you by sharing an insight about trans issues, discussing how to deal and interact with Trans people and generally raise awareness around trans issues with your employees and signpost you to other organisations that could be of benefit. For this work Gender Matters would anticipate a small donation to the Charity (renewable annually).

In addition, if you become a “Synergy” partner with the charity, we will provide you with a notice for you to display, indicating your commitment to supporting trans people (as well as all other strands of diversity). If you wish, we will also list you (and your logo) on our Synergy Partners page on our website. We can also include your logo in our publicity materials and identify you to the Trans community as a Trans-aware organisation/service.

For these benefits, we would anticipate a small donation (from £50 per year, depending on your organisation/service) to our charity to help us continue our work supporting trans people, the families and supporters.
